End of the Summer

Fall is coming and our summer was a busy one as you can tell I haven’t updated the blog much.  This summer we went to the Zoo, Children’s Museum, boating with the Easthouse side, Mike went to Canada for a fly in fishing trip, cabin (JIV), had Great Grandma Gerrick’s 80^th birthday party, people over swimming, and walked the river in MSP.  Brecken has changed so much over the summer he can write his name really good, count to 70, spell his name, understands days of the week and months, knows a lot of the letter of the alphabet, and he is singing new songs all the time.  When I went to lunch with him at pre-school they were all in circle time and had to say a color in Spanish before they could leave to the table to eat and after that they had to all sing a song before they could eat.  It was cute and I was glad to see all the structure!  Brecken wanted to play tennis and soccer this fall.  We also have him signed up for Ice is Nice in Anoka, Swimming Lessons, and some art projects through ECFE.  We just booked our trip to Disney and we are also going to Palm Springs.  After going to Puerto Vallarta last year we are going to try to plan a trip each year.  The drawing that Brecken drew is of Mike dancing.  Mike was dancing one night and Brecken saw it and drew a picture of him at school.  The boy is really into Sponge Bob, Lego’s, Ninja go, Power Rangers, and Monster Trucks.  Lastly, Brecken out of the blue told me a couple days ago “I will always be in your heart” and he pointed to my heart.  Not sure where he learned that, but it made me cry

4 years old

The boy is now 4 years old and I haven’t updated the blog for awhile.  For Brecken’s 4^th B-day we got him a 4-wheeler which is his favorite thing ever!   He wants to ride it all the time as would I if I were a child!!!  He is learning so much at pre-school…patterns, witting his name, numbers and letters.  Brekcen knows his phone number, that he lives in Ramsey...He says my name is Brecken Lane Johnson and I live in Ramsey.  So cute!  He loves his sports and swimming so it has been a busy summer! 

Sports in Spring

This spring has been really busy for Brecken and us.  We have Breck enrolled in tennis, soccer, and t-ball.  His favorite is soccer.  The 1^st game he played was 7-1 and Brecken scored all 7 goals.  It got to be a little embarrassing, since he celebrated each time and a couple times ran back to the middle of the field holding up a number one up.  Mike was so proud of him after that game.  His second game he scored 4 goals and the score was 4-1.  His coaches’ wife asked how long he had been playing and I told her this is his second week.  She said he was natural!!  He seems to be good at soccer, which is my dream…no hockey is what I hope for.  T-ball was fun while it lasted.  Brecken was with 5 & 6 year olds…somehow he got on the wrong team.  The good news was he could keep up with the 5 & 6 years old as far as ability, but he didn’t have the patience like them.  He ended up playing in the dirt/sand in the outfield so we took him off the team after 4 weeks.  He was cutting into the other kids time and we didn’t feel it was fair.  Mike and I are so competitive that if there was a 3 year old on our son’s 5 & 6 year old team we would be upset if they were taking away time, so we felt it was best!  Tennis was fun and he did good at that too, the only problem was Brecken was sick or had birthday parties, or mom and dad were buying a car, so he didn’t get go to many tennis lessons. 

Puerto Vallarta 2012

Puerto Vallarta 2012….We went to PV March 10-17. The night before we left we stayed in a hotel and Brecken got plenty of walking around so he would sleep on the plane. When we took off I counted down 5 to 1 and blast off at the perfect moment. Brecken yelled “WOW”, it was awesome!! On the trip Brecken learned to swim underwater with goggles on. He has a blast with his 2nd cousin Princess Maddie which he called her the whole trip. Mike, Brecken, Grandma Sue, and I swam with dolphins. Mike and I went parasailing. It was a trip to remember. Brecken still calls it Acapulco…he cannot remember Puerto Vallarta or Mexico. We are already thinking about where we want to go next year!!!

Lutsen- 2012

We took Brecken to Lutsen this year and he loved it. He did so good for his first time skiing. He didn’t want to stop and I was so tired that Mike had to save me and take him for a couple of hours, so I could rest. When he got home on Sunday he told Grandma Kelli he went down a big hill, hit a jump and did a back flip. He watches too many extreme sports shows.

Christmas 2011

Christmas this year was so busy. We had 2 stops on x-mas eve plus church and 3 stops on Christmas day. Brecken got a lot of nice gifts. From Santa he got a snowmobile, Nintendo DS, and lots of cars/monster trucks. He loved his gifts from the grandparents, Grandpa Johnson and Nana Carol got him a huge monster truck that you drive around. He kissed and hugged the box when he opened it!! He also loved his golf clubs from Grandma Kelli and his Hex Bugs from the Grandpa & Grandma Easthouse. We went Macy’s 8th floor to see Santa and Brecken didn’t want to sit on his lap, but he sat on the daycare Santa’s lap and told him he wanted an orange snowmobile, since they are the fastest.
