19 months~

Christmas is extremely special for us this year. Having a child during the holidays makes it so much more enjoyable. It brings out the child in you. Brecken went to see Santa, but would not sit on his lap, so I had to join him. After the pictures Santa touched Brecken and he started to cry and almost jumped off my lap to get away from him….funny! He now points to the picture and says “Santa & Ho-Ho-Ho.” He has learned a lot this past month. We sing songs and he has action to them and he copies everything we say. His new words are Shrek (the movies), fish, boots, mittens, hat, more, ball, shoes, socks, grandma, love you, mine; ma-ma (finally…he only said it once in awhile before). He also is a dancing machine. Today Brecken was trying to play in the toilet water...GROSS! I would not let him, of course, so he stormed away and slammed his bedroom door. It was really fun, but I had to explain it is not ok, the terrible twos have started!

Happy Thanksgiving...2009

Brecken had a busy Thanksgiving Day. We woke up and watched part of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade. Then off to Great Grandma Easthouse’s house for lunch. After that we went to the Johnson’s family Thanksgiving. Our last stop was the Friese family Thanksgiving. We are all thankful to have seen everyone and to spend time with our love ones. Brecken is especially thankful that his eye teeth are almost in.

1 1/2 yrs old

What A Cute Age…1 ½ years old

What a cute age!! Brecken is a 1 ½ old…WOW! He is learning so much now and changing daily. Brecken has learned the signs for “please” and “thank you”, which he does all the time to get what he wants. How can you say no when is signing please and saying it at the same time. Of course Brecken is also learning that I am the strict one, while Mike is only strict when needed.
We have put up our Christmas tree, which is a highlight for Brecken. When the tree lights are not turned on he points at the tree and says “uh-oh” over and over again until you turn it on. He also likes the outside lights, which he says “lights” and points to each night. Our new things to do are to read books each night and count to three. You can ask Brekcen to grab the "Good Night Moon" book and he will grab that one out of his pile each time. I read that one to him when he was little, so that must be why it is his favorite.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN FROM BRECKEN THE DRAGON:

17 months…..

Almost a year and ½ old…time is going by too quickly. Mike and I are in the process of selling all our baby stuff, so no more children for us. We really need to enjoy this time with Brecken. They grow up too fast! He copies everything that people says now, so we have to watch what we say. Brecken loves being in the toddler room at daycare and he is learning so much. At daycare when Mike or I walk in to pick Brecken up all the kids point to Brecken’s jacket, since the kids know each other’s parents and what jacket goes with the children. It is adorable. I love Tinkertown! We went to Brecken’s daycare open house this week, which was an adventure. It was fun, because most of the parents and kids know Brecken. He seems to have an outgoing personality, which shows when he is there. The adventure came when he went into the balls and did not want to come out. He made a scene and Mike said, “now I understand how I was as a child.” From the stories I heard about Mike when he was little we will have our hands full!

Fall is here....

Brecken went to the 101 Market and had a blast with the pumpkins. We are all getting ready for fall and winter. I have taken out all Brecken's winter clothes.

16 Months

Brecken has graduated to the toddler room at daycare. He now takes a nap on a cot and eats at a little table with the other toddlers. They go outside in the morning & afternoon, so we are hoping it will burn more of Brecken’s energy. He is really active right now. He is also talking like crazy…his new word is hot and he understands what it means, along with many other words. He repeats everything. It is fun, because he understands things I didn’t even know he understood. Brecken’s favorite thing to do is to pretend to drive our cars. He grabs your hand and takes you to the driver side door, if you do not let him drive he throws a temp…. we are starting the terrible twos. I have heard they are really 18 months to 3 yrs, so we have a long way to go!!

Labor Day Weekend

Brecken had a wonderful Labor Day weekend at JIV. He was outside running around the cabin. He went to Hobo Day and rode around in his wagon. He also went to Crosslake (JP’s Cabin) and went on two boat rides. On John and Megan’s boat he fell asleep for the whole afternoon with daddy, which was nice for me.

15 Months

Brecken in the bath....

Brecken went to the doctor yesterday for his check up and he is healthy and on track developmentally. We do not need to go back to the doctor until he is 24 months…YES! He got 3 shots yesterday and I had to hold back my tears, because he was reaching his arms out to me to hold him. That part of visit sucks, but I found out all Brecken’s one year molars are coming through. Soon he will have 12 teeth. Not too much has changed from last month, but Brecken is pronouncing words better. You can actually make out some words in all of his jabbering. He now says green, blue, black, one, two, three. His favorite activity right now is dancing. Anytime he hears music he dances…he got my dance moves (stiff neck)…poor Brecken. Summer is almost over and we did not do as much as planned. It is hard going anywhere with a toddler.

14 Months Old

Brecken now 14 months and he waves bye-bye, uses a spoon, shakes his head YES & NO, blows kisses, and gives high five. Today when I dropped him off at daycare I said “ok I am going to leave.” He shook his head no. It was really cute, but sometimes he shakes his head no when you want him to do something and that is not cute!! He also loves to be chased around the house. He likes almosts all adult food, besides carrots which he feeds to Calla. She loves having him around. Calla sits by Brecken’s high chair waiting for food. You can tell he is done when he starts feeding her, otherwise he says “all done.” When you show Brecken pictures of Calla he will point her out if you say "where is Calla?" His favorite toys are rocks (icky), his water/sand table, and cars. He says vroom as he pushes them around the house. He is starting to really thin out…no more chubby boy. Brecken is now taking only one nap a day, but it is a long one. At least now we have a set schedule! Brecken's new words are off, yes, up and he signs water. If you say "up" he will bring the toy really high above his head and if you say "down" he will bring the toy down low. He also understands "on" and "off" with his shoes.

4th of July Weekend

Mike, some friends, and I took Brecken to Canterbury for horse & Daschund racing for the 4th. Brecken also went swimming in his blow up pool for the first time and loved it!

13 months

Brecken is 13 months and he is talking like crazy. He justed learned when to use "hi". He also says what's that, sippy, all done, hi dad, and thank you. The other day while Mike and I were in bed with Brecken he said to us "I'm the baby." It was the cutest thing. Not sure where he learned it. He goes up and down the stairs with help coming down. He can throw up his ball and catch it. He understand sign language...sit down, change, eat, more, all done. Brecken is now on a set sleeping schdule 7:00 pm bed time and get up around 6:00 am. It is tough on the weekends, but so worth it to see our happy boy.

1st Birthday Party- May 30th

Thanks to everyone who came to Brecken’s first birthday party. It turned out to be a perfect day with close family and friends. What a difference a year makes in a person’s life. I was telling Mike that I am never board anymore, since Brecken came along!! Thanks again....Love Brecken!

One Year Old!!

Our little love bug is now a year. It has gone by way to fast! I have a lot of mixed emotions when I think about how fast the time goes and how much Brecken has changed in a year. I never knew I could love someone so much. Brecken is my greatest accomplishment and I cannot wait for the future with my son. Mike and I are so proud of Brecken and we get prouder every day.

Brecken is now taking steps. He took his first steps last Friday. The day before he turned one. He takes 1-4 steps at a time now before falling down. He now loves to play peek-a- boo and so BIG. At daycare he has a friend “Jo-Jo” who he always is with, but I am sure Calla is still his best friends. Brecken has 8 teeth, eats all adult food, and drinks whole milk. He is going through a shy period and has separation anxiety when I leave him, but this will soon pass, because he is way too loud to be shy

Brecken's New Toy

Brecken is becoming domesticated. Besides playing with his new toy he also loves hide 'n seek and coping what other people do.

11 months old

Our baby boy is almost a year old and fast approaching toddler years. Brecken can now move around furniture like a pro and pushes himself into standing position without help from the ground. He is eating almost all adult food now and is almost ready for adult food at daycare....3 weeks away. I am so excited, because we can cut out jar food and formula in a few weeks. Save us some $$$!! Brecken now has 7 teeth, so I am sure there will be 8 by his 1st birthday. Mike and I are getting ready for Brecken's 1st birthday party. I cannot believe a year ago I was ready to pop out our son.
